Two of the songs from upcoming divine new musical comedy “SISTER ACT” are to be showcased for the very first time, available for exclusive download free of charge, at www.sisteractthemusical.com.

The tracks, from the new musical co-produced by Whoopi Goldberg and Stage Entertainment UK, are written by acclaimed international composer and eight-time Oscar winner Alan Menken. Alan is also composer of many of the world famous songs from Disney’s movies, including The Little Mermaid, Beauty & The Beast, Aladdin and Enchanted, with lyrics from his long- time collaborator Glenn Slater.  The book is by the award-winning team Cheri and Bill Steinkellner, whose writing credits include the classic television comedy Cheers, and the production is directed by Peter Schneider.

Raise Your Voice and Take Me To Heaven, two of the show’s stand out numbers, are available exclusively on the official Sister Act website. They can also be downloaded from iTunes in a special link up to launch the songs.  They will also be available to order via your mobile phone watch this space for details.Both tracks feature vocals from leading lady Patina Miller, who makes her West End debut as Deloris Van Cartier, the part originated in the 1991 movie Sister Act by Goldberg.

Whoopi Goldberg says:“I am proud to announce that we’ve finally found you an amazing girl to play Deloris. It wasn't easy, but we did it.  And boy, can she sing (unlike some people we know – me!). And in order to match her, we went for the best and we got the brilliant… Sheila Hancock is our Mother Superior, a legend and not just in my mind.  I think together they will reinvent SISTER ACT and bring it to a whole new level…can you tell I'm excited?”

The songs are accompanied by a music video, which debuted on GMTV (ITV1) and can also be seen on the Sister Act website and below. “SISTER ACT” will open at the London Palladium on Tuesday 2nd June, with previews from Thursday 7th May.
