The debut single from The Treliks was released on the 2 August 2004 ( Please note release date change from 19 July 2004 ) through Face Value Records. The amazing new version of the incredible psychobilly pop monster " Mexican Road Movie " is distributed by Matchbox Recordings, Genepool Distribution/Universal.
"Mexican Road Movie" was discovered by Radio 1's Marc and Lard who played it on their afternoon show. The witty Radio duo called it " The Coral playing the theme to the Munsters". This lead to the band featuring on a Matchbox Recordings compilation. The compilation "Resonance" lead to the band being played again by Marc and Lard on Radio 1 and being picked up by the BBC for a TV documentary called " Body Hits". The show was transmitted on the 15th July on BBC3 prior to the release of the single. After turning away a few major record labels the band made the right choice of signing to FACE VALUE RECORDS.
This release is available from all good record shops including HMV's nationwide, Virgin and Indie record shops all over the U.K. It would be a shame for you to miss out on the birth of a super cool label and a cult band that will soon be riding the waves of superstardom. Watch out for their second single , the very groovy, kitsch and anthemic punk Indie disco anthem " Stereo" out on February 28, 2005 through Face Value.
