K*Le
The stunning self titled debut album from hot new female artist K*Le will be released by Matchbox Recordings on the 12 October 2009 and features the incredible single " Shattered" and 7 other hot tracks.
HISTORY Kaeley Jo Majewski’s singing voice belies her youth.
At only 18, the high school senior’s range and timbre are what you might expect from someone with many recordings and countless live performances to her credit.
The truth is, Kaeley, who goes by the stage name “K*Le,” started her singing career like so many other young prodigies. It was her family who first recognized her talent when, as a four year old, she effortlessly matched Donna Summer word-for-word and note-for-note whenever her mother would put on her records.
When K*Le turned 10, her mother decided it was time to see how far her daughter’s voice could really go. She enrolled her in the local Newtown School of Music, with vocal coach, Russell Faith, who worked with K*Le for a few years. When K*Le’s passion refused to subside, she and her mother decided to take another step and, after much research, K*Le cajoled an interview with Don Lawrence, the New York-based vocal coach who counts among his pupils Christina Aguilera, The Rolling Stones, U2 and Whitney Houston. It didn’t take long for Lawrence to agree to take K*Le on as student and, for two years, the young pupil made the weekly trek from Philadelphia to New York for lessons.
Starting, like so many, with covering other singers’ works, it was Lawrence who suggested K*Le might be ready to create her own. In mid-2007 K*Le began working with Jason Perry at Gemtraxx Studio in Philadelphia to record her first three songs including The First Time.
K*Le began selling her music online and later that year Perry introduced the singer to songwriter and producer Naomie Esler. Working closely with K*Le, Esler helped to develop the singer’s soulfulness and in late 2007 the two collaborated to record The Best Holiday.
From late 2007 through the summer of 2008, K*Le continued to work with Esler, as well as Cathy Block (whose songs have been recorded by Diana Ross; Kool & The Gang; Al Jarreau; New Edition; Myleka and Tisha Campbell) and Bill Kovatch at Level 4 Recording to assemble a band and record a handful of additional songs.
K*Le’s newest song, “Shattered,” is scheduled to be released by London-based Matchbook Recordings in Tour de Force: Three, a compilation of promising new artists. Today, K*Le is hard at work recording more songs whenever possible. When not in the studio, she works at Planet Fitness and will be attending a London college in September 2009 to study psychology.
INSPIRATION
K*Le was first introduced to music listening to Donna Summer tapes and records when she was only four. When asked whom she first remembers as being influential on her musically, however, she quickly says, “The Spice Girls,” and adds, “Was there a 10 year old girl around then who wasn’t?”
Today, K*Le tastes have definitely matured. Having dealt with and emerging from high school unscathed, the aspiring performer most identifies with Christina Aguilera, Beyonce and Leona Lewis.
K*Le “discovered” Christina with Stripped. “I loved that album for years. It helped me realize that it’s ok to have a bad day and, when I do, things usually turn out for the better. Most importantly, Stripped showed me I’m not so unusual.”
Beyonce’s staying power is what intrigues K*Le, who points to both Beyonce’s artistry and business acumen as inspirational. “She started her career 10 years ago and is showing no signs of going away. I can hear her songs every day on the radio. She’s a genius.”
K*Le looks to Leona Lewis for particular inspiration. The 2006 winner of The X-Factor is “pure, raw talent,” according to K*Le (and millions of others), who take special interest in seeing how the international sensation will grow her career and how her second album will do.
OUTLOOK
K*Le feels that her music is intensely personal and thinks that’s the secret to her fledgling success on iTunes. Because she writes her lyrics based on her own observations, experiences and “obsessions,” she feels they come across as more genuine to others who have had similar experiences.
“When I get an idea in my head, I have to keep turning it over and over, re-examining it from different angles and then, very quickly, I have to write it down.”
So far, K*Le has three notebooks full of thoughts, ideas, storylines and lyrics, and she has every confidence much, much more is on the way.
“Music helps me feel alive. It’s how I relate to the world around me. If I can reach just one person with my music, I’d be grateful because I know what it’s like to be touched by music.”

11. In the U.K music and food has combined with celebrity rock and pop stars now appearing and cooking on TV food shows. Please can you give us your favourite recipe ?
At the age of 18, I don't get around to cooking too often, but my favorite dish is Chicken Scampi. I have made this dish and it tastes incedible. I used boneless, skinless chicken breasts cut up into small pieces and soaked them balsamic vinegar. Then I make a sauce by melting butter and adding a dash of wine and lemon juice, and grating up garlic really fine. I sautee that all together. I then add the chicken to the butter and garlic sauce and cook the chicken til it is white and soft and then pour this all over my favorite rigatoni noodle.
