INANNA BIOGRAPHY

Matchbox Recordings is excited and proud to announce the entry of singer/songwriter Inanna into the family. Inanna first started her musical journey in 2004 after having a spiritual experience in a Buddhist temple in Bangkok Thailand. Soon after, the songs just seemed to flow through her effortlessly.

In may 2005 Inanna's dance track Feels So Divine gained her a place as a finalist for Song of the Year judged by Grammy Award winners Nora Jones and Sheila E. Inanna proclaims "My influences were Dido and Alanis Morissette and Donna summer and I love to listen to classical music for inspiration".

In 2007 she enrolled in the Academy Of Performing Arts to further her vocal and performing abilities. Inanna is currently shooting a video for 'Feels So Divine' and is rehearsing and writing new songs for her 2010 Autumn/winter Tour. The official launch date is set for April/May 2010 and will be broadcast on MTV. The debut album " Feels so Divine" will be released through Matchbox Recoridngs/Ciantar Records in April 2010.

Singer on the rise Inanna has been working around the clock to further expose her music and has turned some heads along the way. She has received much acclaim in the last few years, including winning a 2005 song writing competition (judged by Grammy winners such as Norah Jones and Bon Jovi) in the Electronic/Dance category for Song of The Year for her leading track "Feels So Divine”. Inanna has since been signed to Ciantar Records and is currently working on her next music video Inanna's soothing but powerful, rich vocal tones in this music video are sure to take hold of the Adult Contemporary charts. Her songs are known to have a good vibration to them and this is no exception. "You And Me Only" showcases a relaxing beat and Inanna's heartfelt voice to create a song that people will really listen to. It seems innate for Inanna to produce feel-good tunes.

THE EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW

1. What made you decide to start a career in music , tell us a bit about your life and musical history to date ?

I've always had a passion for music, but really it all started when I visited a Buddist temple in Thailand, I had an amazing experience when I was in the temple, it was as if I received a blessing from just being there, and my heart felt like it was for the first time fully open!!! Soon after that the songs just started flowing through me one by one.....I then received the honor of being named Finalist by Song of the Year songwriting competition for my dance track 'Feels so Divine' in May 2005.S ong of the Year is an international songwriting contest supporting VH-1ís Save the Music Foundation.The judges are all grammy award winners including norah jones, bon jovi and beyonce.

2. Who or what are your influences ?

As I mentioned earlier, the songs have been totally inspired by how I felt after leaving that Buddhist temple....I felt connected to this great invisible energy, call it Buddha, the universe, spirit, God...that was my inspiration.

3. What modern artists do you like?

I really like Jason Mraz. He has cool tunes and is a great writer. I also like Le Roux's sound, and Little Boots.

4. If you could choose to record a song with any other artist/band alive or dead who would it be and why?

It has to be the 'Red hot chilli peppers'....lead singer Anthony Keidis rocks.

5. What inspires you to write your music/lyrics ?

My personal life experiences...

6. Name your all time fave track by another artist ?

Loving you by Minnie Riperton

7. What sort of sound can we expect from your forthcoming CD ?

A totally original, soulful, feel good sound....

8. What are your ambitions for your music. Where do you see yourself in 5 years ?

I can see myself writing songs for other artist or for films ect.....

9. How would you describe your music and what genre do you think it fits into ?

Soft dance/pop with sensitive heart felt vocals.

10. Where is your forthcoming CD being recorded and who is producing it?

It is being recorded in London, produced by myself and Darren Monsoon.
