Taking centre stage
next we have the classy alternative band I REMEMBER NOTHING with the
excellent dark melodic pop gem" A New Beginning". Starting off
with distorted guitar jabs and lovely feedback drenched riffs this song moves
and grooves with style. The vocals go from melodic and dreamy to heights of
falsetto heaven. The rhythm section is mysterious and ferocious yet calm and
tight and take this song on a perfect dark pop journey. " Just Remember
the Kids" shouts Richard Snelgrove with passion mid song when the
music drops to just a single bass drum beat in pure 80's fashion. In fact
talking about the 80's I Remember Nothing remind us slightly of Talk
Talk and The Flock of Seagulls crossed with Sigur Ros and Feeder. A bit of the

The excellent 80's
esq pop outfit STATIK IMAGE appear next with the witty leftfield pop
pleaser " Weird". In fact Statik Image is actually the
brainchild of a one Mathew Hresko from the USA. This great song has
chunky power chords, boppy drums, High pitch Depeche Mode/Flock of Seagulls-esq synths and
excellent vocals and lyrics. " Do you pretend to be weird, so you can
freak people out. Are you really strange ? Obscurity's a claim to fame" sings
Mathew.......brilliant, brave and in a wonderful world of it's own. This is
very 80's and very unique and truly the inspired work of an active genius. Statik
Image have already been played on many college
radio stations and Internet sites, including Acossi, TheWorldWradeoNetwork
and SmokedogProductions. In his own words "The songs portray
cynicism and conflict, while still revealing optimism and a sense of adventure.
Perfect leftfield alternative and zany pop at it's best.
Superstar STEEL above
touching hands with his army of female fans
Bursting
onto the scene next we have the very powerful, funky and soulful STEEL from
Trinidad and Tobago. " Superstar" is a great uplifting and
powerful song from start to finish. STEEL started
in music about 20 years ago in the U.S., Washington DC area, as a trombone
player and back-up gospel singer and has moved on to perform in clubs and stadiums
and in Trinidad during the annual Carnivals. Expect funky beats and basslines,
distorted power guitars and very soulful and catchy vocals. " I feel
like a Superstar" sings Steel making you want to jump and down and
celebrate NOW. " I'm a true Believer". Well on the island of
Trinidad 1000's of fans bop to this crowd pleaser whenever Steel performs live.
This song is extremely catchy and sticks in your head bringing positive vibes
to the listener and it's the perfect party song. If you're ever in Trinidad you
know who to go and see. Steel is hip, cool and full of rock and pop energy.

Cool Indie guitar saviors, the real
WILLOW above
Salisbury's
rocktastic WILLOW license the powerful, groovy Indie rock track" After
the Feeling ". This Reef-esq uplifting bluesy rock stomper is packed
with funky and distorted guitars, powerful drums and very rhythmic bass riffs.
The guitars take us on a very bluesy journey and convince us to down our pints
and head for the dancefloor. The band formed in Salisbury on a college music
course and were playing live within days. They then went on to perform with Mel
C at a charity gig for the homeless and have since supported Tom Hingley from
the Inspiral Carpets. The band have also received radioplay in Sydney showing
they have worldwide appeal. " Out of the picture and into the water,
over my shoulder , it's the devils' daughter" sings strong voiced
frontman Paul Garry. The rest of the band consists of : Robin Parish
( Drums), Sam Rose ( Bass) and Mark Bonner on lead guitar and
backing vocals. The local press love em also: Stacks of Charisma - Salisbury
Journal. This is perfect late night drinking decadent bluesy Stones-esq
rock that is full of passion and precision. Check

Alf Kingston a.k.a WOULD ?

Appearing
next we have Bristol's very melodic WOULD ?. Would ? is actually the
undercover work of prolific singer/songwriter Alf Kingston. He licenses
the lovely pop rock track " So Don't Disappear" to the
extravaganza. This excellent sing-a-long song is very catchy, classic and
organic and sticks in your head after the first play. There are elements of
country, pop and rock here and it's extremely radio friendly. Expect strumming
acoustic guitars, dreamy bluesy leads, melodic vocals and heavenly harmonies.
This is traditional organic pop the way it's supposed to be. A slight cross
between Del Amitri, The Byrds and The Lemonheads but also in a world of it's
own. " I'm a little angry, just a little insane" sings Alf
with heaps of sentimental emotion. This is classic and memorable and even has a
lovely 70's esq lead solo that sends shivers down the spine . Pure warm proper
pop at it's best. Alf also hosts his own open mic nights in Bristol so if any

The
wonderful acoustic duo FAIRBURN appear next with the catchy acoustic
song" Amsterdam". This exceptional grower has very rhythmic
acoustic guitars and lovely almost medieval flutes that take you on journey
very far away. In fact to Amsterdam. This very homegrown Jethro Tull esq
alt.folk song is groovy and catchy. Fairburn are actually the very talented
Mathew and Helen from Exmouth. They sing traditional thought provoking acoustic
songs with witty storytelling lyrics. " To many hours spend just
speeding away, to close to night and too distant the day". Expect
loads of melody, charm and a very warm ambience. A Proper acoustic gem for the
00's.
MELODY MAKER above
Classic
songsmith's MELODY MAKER appear next with the touching Indie
ballad " Better Day". Starting off with jangly acoustic
guitars, bluesy piano and a meandering bass line this songs builds into a very
catchy and classic chorus that sticks in your head. MELODY MAKER consists
of two main members - Fouad Abidi – 23, from North East England,
performing lead vocals and guitar, and Mark Scott – 23, from Scotland
performing keyboards and backing vocals. Friends Jonty and Andy
who are both from Leeds, feature on the track ‘Better Day’
performing drums and bass. Melody Maker was formed in Leeds. Think The Charlatans and
Oasis crossed with Crowded House, The Beatles Hey Jude era and a mellow Shed 7. A good mix of different
sounds but one thing remains the same. It all sounds classic as hell and is
filled with a melancholy charm not heard for a while. Touching , sensitive
Indie guitar music at it's best. The Maker's have already topped the Matchbox
Radio 24 interactive chart. Watch out for these top " Indie
balladeers" they have strong songs and the enthusiasm to take them all the
way to the top. Excellent.
Staying
mellow we move onto the melodic and bluesy FIRE EXIT SUMMER. This
dynamic emotive duo license the dreamy ,jangly and classic song " Halleluiah
here she comes". This song is retro, lo-fi, melodic and classic
sounding as hell. The vocals are full of bluesy emotion and great timeless
alt.country harmonies. " How I wish you'd stayed just a little bit
longer" sings Phil Masters with emotion. Fire Exit Summer consists
of two Norwich based singer/songwriters Phil Masters and Robert
Carney. This great song is taken from their " Songs for a restless
Soul" album that was inspired by a lot of travelling and soul
searching. Think Alabama 3 and Red House Painters on holiday with Spiritualized
and a mellow Flaming Lips . Dreamy out of this world organic timeless music at
it's best.
Peterborough's Indie heroes
ABSENT above
Appearing
next we have the supersonic Indie noise heroes ABSENT from Peterborough.
They license the chugging sonic leftfield stunner" My Twisted
Wonderland". This excellent songs starts off with lovely dark
screeching guitars that send sonic shivers through your spine. The drums are
powerful and chaotic and crash their way into this stunning song. The vocals
are very melodic and are delivered with emotion and loads of charm. This catchy
song goes from dark pop territory into Brit pop territory and back again and
maintains a strong energy all the way through. John O Leader, Ren Lee, Grant
Mortimore and Barry Walker make up Absent who
actually met at a science fiction club in 1999. Excellent garage Indie dark pop
for the energetic young and exciting. Outstanding noise. Absent were
recently called "best band" on the Extravaganza Show on Matchbox
Radio 24 by studio guest Graeme Hughes. They are streaming the show from their

They were also a recent " Song of the Week" on our website and have received
a call of encouragement from Radio 1's John Peel. They have also supported
Longview and Adom. Go Absent.
Sheffield's
top Indie rock band DRINKER license the moody angst ridden
anthem "Purple Hearts" to Extravaganza. This emotional song starts
off in a mellow mode and builds up into an emotional sing-a-long infectious
chorus. Expect distorted screeching guitars, moody basslines, powerful drums
and a lot of grungey Pumpkins/Nirvana esq ambience. The lyrics touch on the
dark side " I don't know why I feel so empty, don't give up on me".
Drinker are a young Indie rock band who deliver real songs with lots of true
feeling and no pretence. Former Long pigs drummer "Chris" once described
them as " Tight as F..K". Drinker have a loyal following and recently
played at a sold out Boardwalk in Sheffield. All we can say is that we think
the world should get drunk on Drinker. Good solid tunes and heaps of noisy rock
energy. Drinker will also be featuring on a future compilation with one of
their more up-tempo live faves " Soapbox". Watch this space
for details.
THE MODEST from Shropshire

Ending
this great new music album in style we have new alternative rock outfit THE
MODEST. They license the dreamy, distorted , leftfield , lo-fi Rock
anthem" Propaganda". Expect bluesy distorted guitar leads,
Byrds-esq melodies and strumming acoustics. The vocals are very passionate and
melodic and stick in your head immediately. " I live for the propaganda"
sings Mark Griffiths. A cross between Oasis, The Bluetones, Teenage
Fanclub and The Byrds but also in a world of it's own with a lovely leftfield

Benting ( Bass), Lyndon Thompson ( Drums) and Graham Meaklin
