THE EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW

1. What made you decide to start a career in music , tell us a bit about your life and musical history to date ?

I have always enjoyed singing, I listened to all sorts of Music growing up and I appreciate the various genres of music. I still listen To all sorts of Music and I always wanted to fulfill the dream of creating my own music - however, I was dissuaded for a long time by the idea of having my life and the lives of those close to me intruded upon because of the music. But thankfully, in the digital age that we live in, I can create music and share music and connect with people through the music and keep the focus on the music and that's how it should be.

I don't like to talk about my personal life, as... well, it's personal. I turned down 2 record deals as I needed to retain my creativity and indiviuality as well as my privacy, but I just wanted to share my music and if my lyrics have touch even one soul out there, then it's been worth it taking the leap alone.

2. Who or what are your influences ?

I love Michael Jackson, this is because he created music that transcended race and genre. He just went wherever the creativity took him and I really admired him for that. He was the first artist that made me believe that you don't have to be a genre specific artist if you wanted to do different things and you did not have to restrict your creativity to tailor to just one crowd of people. It was all about the Music, and I guess to a degree, it was partly because of the focus on his personal life, that almost overshadowed the musical genius he was, that made me decide I'd rather not go through that - not that my life is remotely that interesting, but it's mine none the less.

Madonna... well, do I really need to say anything else?

I am also an avid fan of Fall Out Boy, especially Patrick Stump - so much so I wrote a song about him, do get the album to listen. I really enjoy the lyrics and the music and the high notes and strings and the... I'm a huge fan.

Janet Jackson, Timbaland, Kanye West, Brandy, Usher, Beyonce and Alicia Keys - just shows what talent and hardwork can achieve.

I could go on about the various artists that have touched me and affected my musical styles, but the bottom line is - I love Music.

3. What modern artists do you like?

Rihanna, Fall Out Boy, used to love Chris Brown, Beyonce, Alicia Keys, Jay Z, Andrea Boccelli, Darius, Foo Fighters, Green day, Mary J Blige, Joe, Sonu Nigham, Hopeless Heroics, Pink, Lady Gaga, Timbaland, P.Diddy, Kanye West, Justin Timberlake... you know we could be here all day.

4. If you could choose to record a song with any other artist/band alive or dead who would it be and why?

Artist would be: Michael Jackson

Song Would be: Who is it - from the album Dangerous (an album that I think deserves more notice)

Why: Erm... it's Michael Jackson and I love that song.

5. What inspires you to write your music/lyrics ?

Mostly relationships. Sometimes it's inspired from my experiences and sometimes it's inspired by my observation of other people's relationships. It could be just witnessing an interaction between a couple on the bus. But it's mostly about people.

6. Name your all time fave track by another artist ?

Sugar We're Going Down by Fall Out Boy

7. What sort of sound can we expect from your forthcoming CD ? Do you think it's harder being a female in the music industry ?

There are a couple of I just wanna get up and dance tracks on it and a couple of let's go for a drive tracks and 2 just pop/rock I guess; one of which is the Patrick Stump song. As for it being harder being a female in the Music industry - I don't know if that's true. The only true statement for me, about the industry is it's hard. It doesn't discrimintae in it's hardness to anyone, be it male, female or groups. It's a hard industry.

8. What are your ambitions for your music. Where do you see yourself in 5 years ?

My main thing is writing lyrics/songs and creating music. If I lost my voice tomorow, I hope I'd still be able to write and create music for others. In 5 years time, I hope I'm still alive and still creating and sharing music with the world.

9. How would you describe your music and what genre do you think it fits into ?

My music is not genre specific although it would seem my first single fell into the Pop/rnb category. I hope I create music that makes you want to sing along, or dance, or just moves you.

10. Where was your album recorded and who is producing ?. Tell us more about the album as a whole, influences, any info about certain songs etc ?

The album was recorded in London U.K, as that's where I live. It was produced by myself as I am an independent artist - and for those who don't know what that means, it means there is no huge company backing. It's all me; so please buy the genuine article and say NO to piracy.

Most of the songs were written by myself and there are a couple that were either written or co-written by C.I - a brilliant songwriter and producer (when you can get his time), but all the details of who wrote what are in the album sleeve. So far from the album, I have released So you Know, with the B-side as Stop Talking. Stop talking actually seems to be quite popular in the clubs which is fine by me. But again, almost all the songs are about relationships and people.

11. In the U.K music and food has combined with celebrity rock and pop stars now appearing and cooking on TV food shows. Please can you give us your favourite recipe ?

I'd have to kill you if I did :-)> xxx
