CAT BLAY

CAT BLAY BIOGRAPHY

Cat Blay is a 17-year-old singer songwriter hailing from Birmingham. Her love of music began from a tender age when she would secretly write songs in her bedroom. At the tender age of 14 she was signed to an entertainment company called Broadwater entertainments where she spent 6 months working on her breathing techniques, her choice of song and style and her image.

Her first live performance happened at 15 and she has been gigging all over Britain ever since. After secretly cultivating a love and a passion and talent for songwriting, she realized that this was her real calling. After turning to producers to guide her and show her the way – many told her her lyrics and her knack for writing a great song, had come full circle. After many hours gigging, and working, Cat Blay eventually saved up the money to self-fund her debut album. Every single song on her debut was written and performed by Cat – an amazing feat for a girl a mere 17 years old.

The album was recorded at Robannas in Birmingham – the same studio the Pussycat Dolls recorded their hit single ‘Jai Ho’.

After loading her songs on My Space, her talent and potential was brought to the attention of Dale Olivier of Matchbox Recordings, who immediately secured the deal to sign Cat Blay and help her get the message of music out to the world.

In Cat’s own words – “Now at 17 I’m ready to release my debut album. I have grown up; I have better taste in music and fashion. I’m more confident than ever and I can’t wait for everyone to hear my songs. I hope everyone likes them. Hopefully this year will be the start of a long and successful career in singing and song writing”.

Her debut album will be released through Matchbox Recordings in April 2010.
